Uconnect Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2014

This Uconnect Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Sprint and Chrysler will collect, access, use, and disclose your personal information, vehicle information, and information related to your use of the Uconnect Services. It applies to the Uconnect Services as defined in the Uconnect Terms of Service, and which include the Uconnect website (driveuconnect.com) and the Uconnect Access application, provided by Sprint and its trusted service providers in partnership with Chrysler. All terms in this Policy are fully enforceable by Chrysler and Chrysler affiliates. Our collection, access, use, safeguarding, and disclosure of your personal information and vehicle information, and the personal information of any of the occupants in your vehicle, are subject to U.S. law. This Policy only applies to information that Sprint or Chrysler collect about you or your vehicle (including information from or about any of the occupants in your vehicle) through the Uconnect Services. This Policy does not restrict our use or sharing of information which is anonymized or in an aggregated form, (i.e. information that cannot be used to directly identify you or your vehicle). Information collected by Sprint or Chrysler about you independent of the Uconnect Services (e.g., as a Sprint wireless customer) is not governed by this Policy.

INFORMATION YOU GIVE US Sprint collects the information you provide (for instance, when you register for the Uconnect Services or call Uconnect Customer Care for assistance), including, but not limited to, your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and credit card information.

INFORMATION SPRINT AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTS In addition to the information that you directly provide, Sprint may collect information from you or your vehicle (with Information You Give, all called “Collected Data”) which may include but not limited to:

HOW SPRINT AND CHRYSLER USE YOUR INFORMATION Sprint and Chrysler use Collected Data for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to provide the Uconnect Services to you; for troubleshooting and maintenance; to communicate with you about your account, primarily through the email address you provide at registration; to prevent fraud and misuse of the Uconnect Services; to allow Sprint and Chrysler (and their subsidiaries, affiliates, and dealers) to evaluate and improve products or services, and to offer you new or additional products or services; to protect your safety and the safety of others; to comply with laws, regulations, court orders, and subpoenas or similar requests for information by authorities; to analyze vehicle information and vehicle use information for quality and product improvement purposes, and to enforce the Uconnect Terms of Service. This list is not meant to be exhaustive. Sprint shares the Collected Data with Chrysler, who uses it for its purposes and purposes of its affiliated companies, including marketing. Sprint will not use Vehicle Data unless specifically authorized by Chrysler, although Sprint and Chrysler will each use Location Information as described above.

HOW INFORMATION IS SHARED Sprint and Chrysler may share Collected Data with each other. Either may disclose the Collected Data to any of the third parties described below, and for any of the uses described in How Sprint and Chrysler Use Your Information.
Information Shared with Third Parties: Sprint and Chrysler may share Collected Data with third parties who facilitate or provide some aspect of the Uconnect Services, such as third-party application providers, roadside assistance providers, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or emergency service providers. Sprint and Chrysler also share that information to enable any of the uses described in How Sprint and Chrysler Use Your Information. Vehicle Data may be collected and shared with Chrysler at all times and including for a period of time after your use of the Uconnect Services. This includes GPS location information about your vehicle. Chrysler uses this information as set forth in this Policy and shares it in the same manner as Sprint as described in this Policy.
Your use of third-party applications may result in these third parties collecting your personal information and obtaining information from Sprint, including location information (when applicable). You may also choose to give personal information directly to third parties when using the Uconnect Services. In each case, personal information you give a third party will be subject to that third party’s terms, conditions, and policies—not this Policy. You should review a third party’s privacy policy and terms of service before providing your information or using the third-party service.
Business Transfers: Collected Data may be disclosed and transferred by Sprint or Chrysler as part of any merger, acquisition, financing, sale of company assets or interests in the company, or transition of service to another provider. In the unlikely event of insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, personal information may also be transferred as a business asset.

SAFEGUARDS AND RETENTION OF INFORMATION Sprint uses a variety of procedural, physical, and technological safeguards in our efforts to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Sprint requires you to have a Uconnect Services user ID and password, and it is important that you maintain the confidentiality of this information at all times and update the password regularly. Sprint also requires that you establish a Uconnect Services personal identification number (PIN) which is required to use certain features such as remote door lock and unlock. It is important that you do not provide your PIN to anyone who is not authorized to use the Uconnect Services or incur charges on your Uconnect Services account. Sprint and Chrysler are not responsible for unauthorized use of the Uconnect Services or charges to your account when the appropriate authentication has been provided. Neither Sprint nor Chrysler can guarantee that your information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Policy (for example, as the result of illegal acts by third parties).
