In an emergency, nothing is more precious than time. Select FCA Group vehicles come equipped with an available built-in data connection and a 9-1-1 call button
on the rearview mirror as part of its Uconnect® Access
services. When every second matters, occupants in vehicles with Uconnect Access
can now push the 9-1-1 call button
to connect directly to a local Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) who can dispatch first responders to an accident scene if necessary. Working closely with industry experts, Chrysler Group has adopted key best practices for contacting first-responders. Accordingly, the 9-1-1 service does not rely on a paired Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phone. Rather, FCA Group vehicles with this feature utilize an embedded wireless connection, bypassing call centers in an effort to help expedite an emergency call.
